Australia Immigration Skilled Occupations List
Due to changing economy and varying socio-economical needs, the Australian Government releases an annual Australia Immigration Skilled Occupations List (SOL) which covers all the occupations eligible for the skilled workers.
This list is compiled and revised every year under different classes of visa such as – Skilled Independent Subclass 189 Visas, Skilled Regional (Provisional) Subclass 489 Visas (in which an Australian relative sponsors your visa), and Graduate Temporary Subclass 485 Visas for the graduates.
If you aim for making a professional migration to Oz, you must need to undergo a skill assessment test along with a mandatory IELTS/TOEFL test for assessing your proficiency in English language. If you want to get your visa application approved, you will be required to obtain the passing marks in the skilled migration test.
After undergoing the SkillSelect system, you would have to submit an ‘Expression of Interest’ (EOI) along with documents to the immigration officers. Once they approve, you will receive an invitation from the Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP) to apply for a Work Visa.
The good news: almost every department of the professional world makes it to the Australia Immigration Skilled Occupations List every year with Accounting, IT and Medical. Most commonly, as a skilled worker wanting to immigrate to Down Under, you would require Visa 457.
Thus, if you plan to apply for a General Skilled Migration (GSM) Visa to migrate to Australia , then you are required to nominate an occupation from the ones mentioned in the Australia Immigration Skilled Occupations List released annually. If in the event you do not find your occupation in the SOL, then you should check for the same in the Consolidated Australia Immigration Skilled Occupations List (CSOL).
