Rules for Canada Permanent Residency PR

Canada witnesses huge number of individuals applying for Permanent Residency in the country. Before applying for the said purpose, one must find out the rules and eligibility criteria for it. It should be remembered that acquiring PR in this country does not mean that that he is a Canadian citizen. Privileges can be enjoyed by permanent residents of the nation but there are certain restrictions also.

Rules for Canada Permanent Residency include: no criminal background, an age limit to be fulfilled, and most importantly, proper and valid immigration documents and process. Individuals staying temporarily in the country can apply for permanent residency (PR). For example, a foreign student can apply for the PR. Refugees eligible under the government scheme of refuges are also eligible. Other refugees stand ineligible for obtaining PR in Canadian soil.

A permanent residence card is awarded to individuals having the PR status. This PR card acts as a valid proof for the primary residency of this country. Being a permanent resident opens the gateway for becoming a citizen of this wonderful Maple Nation. That is, a permanent resident staying there for more than three years can apply for citizenship — provided all other eligibilities are fulfilled. Thus, the PR has its advantages which serve the interest of a foreign individual wishing to stay in Canada.Check Your Eligibility

Proper immigration along with following of certain PR rules can easily grant an individual Permanent Residency in Canada. The presence of a PR card validates the status of one’s permanent residency even as this is a very important document. An individual wishing to stay in the nation for a certain period but not permanently should apply for PR, to validate the stay.
