Express Entry Canada 2015–Decoding the Process
Due to the high number of employment opportunities and flourishing economy Canada has become the top notch immigration destination for foreign skilled workers who are eager to live and work abroad.
Every year, the country attracts a large number of aspirants from every corner of the world with amazing number of benefits such as high standard of living, healthcare facilities, better education system and bright job prospects.
Many of the skilled workers choose to immigrate to the ‘Land of Milk and Honey’ over other destinations. The primary reason: the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has recently laid a red-carpet with the introduction of ‘Express Entry’ to welcome aspirants who wish to live and work in the country permanently.
Express Entry Canada 2015
It is an unprecedented act of the IRCC and became effective in the first week of January 2015. The system manages applications for the Federal Skilled Trade Worker Programme (FSTP), certain parts of Provincial Nomination Programs (PNP), Federal Skilled Worker Programme (FSWP), and the Canadian Experience Class (CEC).
It is distinctive in many ways and has completely transformed the way the government picks skilled workers. The system has clearly stood up to its declaration. Till date, 17 draws have taken place. The recent draw took place on August 10 even as around 754 Invitation to Apply (ITAs) were issued.
How Express Entry Works?
Applicants are required to create an online profile, on the basis of their profile they will be placed in the Express Entry Pool, and will be ranked as per the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). Thereafter, applicants will be picked up by the government through a draw. Selected candidates will be issued an ITA to claim Canadian Permanent Residency (PR) within the given time frame.
Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS)–Key Parameters
- Job offer from a Canadian employer or a provincial nomination,
- Skill transferability,
- Language proficiency,
- Accompanying common law partner or spouse, and
- Core human capital.
At present, it is the best way to meet the shortage of skilled workers in rural as well as remote areas of the country where local employees fail to recruit suitable talent.
The applicants with a job offer or a provincial nomination will be fast picked. The draw generally takes place in every two weeks and once the applicant receives an ITA, they may apply for PR Visa within 60 days.
