Figuring-out Canadian Quebec Skilled Worker Programme

Most of the people are on the watch out for a quick and simple way allowing them to immigrate to the place where they want to go. Well, in most of the times, you may come across good immigration programmes. In case of Canada, you will be able to find the Expression of Interest (EoI) or Express Entry to help you.

The Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), the body governing the immigration, planned an unprecedented immigration programme in the form of Express Entry. But there is but one contention that not everyone can express their interest to move with the help of Express Entry programme.

In the first place, the most challenging aspect to beat in the programme is the requirements. Keeping aside the requirement, you can only fit into the scheme if you have been engaged in the work that has been recognized in the Skilled Occupation List (SOL), the list containing the name of the jobs that are in demand.

But for most of the people who opine that if they are not able to make it through the Express Entry, they will not be able to get into Canada, they are terribly mistaken. The Provincial Nominee Programme (PNP) leverages on possibilities, and if you are not able to make it through with the Express Entry program, you can still try your luck with the PNP.

The Quebec PNP has been customized for investors, skilled workers, entrepreneurs/business men/women and in the farm segment as well. So, the bottom-line is that you are able to move to the Maple Leaf Country even if the Express Entry has not worked for you.

Let’s take a quick look at the Quebec Skilled Worker Programme (QSWP) and figure-out how one can move to the overseas hotspot using it!

Quebec has followed a different yet special rule while inducting foreign workers in its skilled work force. The province follows its own SOL and they can include any job in any sector where there are discrepancies. If they feel that there are few sectors reeling for growth due to lack of labor, they can choose any skilled worker from the Express Entry pool under the QSWP and ask them to move instantly to the province.

In the pursuit of the immigration, the immigrants are also given the opportunity to apply for permanent citizenship. After completion of a stipulated time period, they can even become Canadian nationals.

Under the QSWP, those immigrants who are willing to put up in Montreal or in any other city or town of Quebec will be evaluated based on the immigration program that Quebec follows. It may be similar or different with the Express Entry programme.
