Migrate to Canada via Points-Based Immigration System

The Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) has introduced Express Entry system, Canada’s only Points-Based Immigration System in the first week of January. Till date, three and a half months have passed and seven draws have already taken place. In fact, the good news is that some of the applicants have already received the status of Permanent Residents.

There is a lot more good news for those who wish to immigrate to Canada through its Points-Based Immigration System. The country has been ranked first worldwide for opportunities with stand out results for tolerance towards immigrants.

Coming back to the points based immigration system; it’s one-of-its-kind that includes these economic programmes, namely, Federal Skilled Worker Programme (FSWP), Federal Skilled Trades Programme (FSTP), Canadian Experience Class (CEC) and a portion of the Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs).

The system follows two major steps—the first is creating an online profile and second is issuing an Invitation to Apply to potential applicants as per their human capital. Applicants will be granted points on following basis: a job offer from a Canadian Employer and/or a provincial/territorial nomination and/or applicant’s human capital.

How will the immigration system benefit the country?

In order to meet the growing demand of labor market and thriving economy, the Government of Canada has completely reformed its economic immigration procedure. Applicants–with the ability to fulfill the demand of the labor market and ability to contribute towards the national economy—will be given preference.

Majority of the applicants who will receive an ‘Invitation to Apply’ under the Canada Points-Based Immigration Systems will witness their application processed in less than six months. Decrease in waiting period will clear the backlog and attract the best skilled professionals from around the world.

Some of the major benefits

  • The system is most transparent and the quickest.
  • It is free of cap limitation. This means any number of applications may be accepted.
  • One does not have to follow any list of occupation–any one from any field may apply.
  • It is one of the fastest systems that provide Permanent Residence straight way.
  • It allows you to bring along your spouse and children below the age of 18.

Provinces and territories apart from Quebec may nominate a certain number of applicants

The Canadian provinces and territories, except Quebec, may also nominate a certain number of applicant’s through the point based immigration system in order to meet the growing demand of local labor market. If any applicant is granted a provincial or territorial nomination, he will receive an added advantage and will be issued an Invitation to Apply in the very next draw.

Candidates are free to choose one of the following categories: they may enter the express entry pool first, and then be nominated by a province or territory, or else be nominated by a province or territory, and thereafter complete an online Express Entry profile.
