Saskatchewan Immigration program launches new category for graduate entrepreneurs

If you are wondering on how to start a business in Canada after graduation in any business course, then worry not as Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) has introduced a new immigration route for international graduates of eligible post-secondary institutions in Saskatchewan. This pathway is specially created by Saskatchewan PNP for those new age entrepreneurs who have a brilliant business idea, and want to implement it, by starting a ne business in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan.

To this Immigration and Career Training Minister Jeremy Harrison was quoted as saying that “This new immigration pathway will help retain international students who have often already successfully integrated into communities in the province. “It will also help create new businesses and jobs, as well as keep Saskatchewan competitive in attracting and retaining international students and investment.”

Also immigrating via this Saskatchewan immigration pathway will aid international students to set up their business and gradually acquire permanent residency in Canada. This new SINP category will also help with the Saskatchewan’s Growth Plan from 2020 to 2030. This growth plan via majority of the Canada PNP programs will focus on a surging number of skilled and entrepreneurial newcomers in Saskatchewan.

To this, Advanced Education Minister of Saskatchewan, Tina Beaudry-Mellor added that Saskatchewan’s Post-Secondary International Education Strategy is looking to attract more international students to the province. During the release she said that “International [student] education is an important driver for Saskatchewan’s future economic and cultural growth”

This new category is basically created for international students of full-time, post-secondary degree or diploma programs of a minimum duration of 2 years. If you are approved for this category, you will be required to operate and manage a business in the Canadian province Saskatchewan for a minimum time span of 1 year. Also, they will need to own at least one-third of the equity in a qualified business for them to be qualified for a provincial nomination for permanent residence in Canada.
